What are cannabinoids and why are they so important?
Cannabinoids are similar to the chemicals or endocannabinoids that our body’s produce to interact with receptors that manage a whole range of our continuing functions such as memory, appetite, pain and movement. These so-called endocannabinoids are part of a natural internal structure known as the endocannabinoid system.
There is still very little research to help us understand how these chemicals and receptors interact but what we do know is that CBD stimulates our own endocannabinoid system and that the endocannabinoid system is a crucial part of our body’s complex management system. It ensures that interactions within your nervous system and immune system are happening efficiently and at the right time. It allows your body to maintain a balance known as homeostasis.
As a result, when we introduce CBD into the body, it promotes the harmonious balance that modern lives require.
