One of our Founders, Olivier Reiner, suffers with an arthritic condition called ankylosing spondylitis. Prior to EthicaCBD’s inception, as part of Oli’s ongoing pain and inflammation management, he had researched and tested a wide variety of topical relief products.

There was no clear ‘go-to’ natural topical that worked well enough for him, so as part of our original plan, we set about creating one. We had two core goals which underpinned the development of our topical formula:
An unexpected, but essential addition to the formula was another powerful cannabinoid called CBG (cannabigerol). Whilst developing this product, there was growing scientific interest in CBG and its potential health benefits and some small studies and anecdotal evidence suggested enhanced benefits when combined with CBD in a topical application. So, we added CBG into our formulation and it really did work.
After 2 years of development, there was a particular iteration of the product which seemingly contained perfectly balanced amounts of therapeutic natural extracts, and we all felt it. This was the EthicaCBD Sports Gel.
As a company, we have sought guidance from our scientific advisors at DevelRX who specialise in providing strategic and scientific support on the discovery, safety, toxicity and regulatory approval of molecules that enter the central nervous system (CNS).
